Serial # 60854. The Colt shows this Colt Lightning was manufactured in 1887. Condition: This Colt 1877 Lightning is in very nice condition considering it's manufacture date. It is 138 years old. This Colt Model 1877’s action / cylinder rotation functions as designed in both single and double action, which is apparently rare. The condition of the metal frame, grip frame, barrel and cylinder is very good considering the revolver's age. There is minimal pitting with a just a few pits on the top of the barrel. Otherwise, corrosion is minimal. It is assumed that what remains of the finish on the gun is original. The bore is not perfect, it is shiny but does show what is belived to be lead fouling. The grips are correct original Colt and in very good condition, they are not original to the gun. The 1877 was cleaned when the grips were off, a more thourgh cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards. We do not test fire our firearms unless otherwise stated.
