Description: The FN Model 1922 represents one of John Moses Browning's most successful pistol designs, manufactured by Fabrique Nationale in Belgium and widely adopted by European military and police forces. During World War II, production continued under German oversight, with these wartime examples bearing distinctive Eagle inspection marks that make them historically significant artifacts of the occupation period.
This very good wartime example bears the Eagle 140 inspection marks indicating German wartime inspection and acceptance. Serial number 58737a falls within the wartime production range and features matching numbers throughout, which is relatively uncommon for pistols from this turbulent period. Checkered walnut grips remain in good condition, and the pistol retains most of its original finish despite its wartime service history. Bright bore and mechanically fine function demonstrate the robust construction that made Browning's design so successful. An important piece of World War II small arms history that represents both Belgian craftsmanship and the complex realities of wartime production.
