Description:
Nice tiger maple stock.With About .42 cal., and a 30” octagon barrel with a moderately oxidized bore. The metal surfaces are primarily a soft plum brown patina showing light oxidation and scattered pitting with numerous handling marks, the back action lock is marked “W Jacot/London”; there are vise marks on some of the barrel flats. All of the furniture is brass and there is a four piece pierced patchbox. The curly maple halfstock rates perhaps about very good showing an old refinish years ago which has left the edges light. There is a repaired chip at the toe using walnut which has left the buttplate and the toeplate misshapen, and a repair on front of the lockplate.. There appears to have been a cap splash plate beneath the large nipple bolster which is no longer present, there is a vacant lollipop peepsight hole in the wrist to the rear of the tang and a few light drying cracks. Equipped with double triggers and a single acting lock which will not hold on cock
