The Ruger Mini-14 was developed from the venerable Garand action, with the intent of creating a "new-age" farm and ranch gun for pest control. The rifle is a gas-operated autoloader that far exceeded expectations. It is suitable for the original intent as well as being a great casual plinking rifle, chambered in a varmint rifle caliber, works well for casual varmint hunting as well. Most Mini-14s were chambered in .223 Remington, but this one is set up for the military 5.56 NATO. Yom 2022. 5.56 NATO
