Description:
SHILOH SHARPS, MADE IN BIG TIMBER, MT, 1874 No. 3 SPORTER IN .45-70, #B3XXX. This rifle was built like the early 1870s buffalo rifles and features a 30” heavy octagon barrel, hand selected dark reddish/brown straight grain walnut stock and forearm that is fitted with a pewter tip. The butt stock has the traditional early Sharps style case hardened steel slightly curved “military butt plate.” It also has double set triggers, plain barrel without a rear sight dovetail and is fitted with a mid-range vernier tang sight adjustable for both windage and elevation along with a “bubble” spirit level globe front sight that will accept inserts and is adjustable for windage. This fine rifle weighs in right at about a full 12 LBS and is in like new condition inside and out. Current catalog price on this one with the sights would be about $3700 with a 2 ½ year back order wait time (and probable price increases along the way). My price $3200.
