Payment Types Accepted: checks, cashiers/bank check, money order Description: RARE 1894 SEMI-DELUXE SADDLE RING CARBINE, .30WCF, CHECKERED PISTOL GRIP, SHOTGUN BUTT, SPECIAL MAGAZINE, AND FRONT SIGHT, CODY LETTER, #93XXX, SHIPPED 1900. Any special features on a carbine are rare and this one has several. The letter states: Carbine; 30 caliber; ½ magazine 4 cartridges; Plain wood, checkered stock, pistol grip; Shotgun butt; Rubber butt plate; Lyman front sight; Received in the warehouse on October 15, 1900 and Shipped from the warehouse October 15, 1900. The magazine is particularly unusual as most half-magazines are “button magazines” that stop at the forend tip and look like a “button.” This one is specified as holding “4 cartridges” and is longer than usual to accommodate the extra cartridge. The forend and pistol grip are checkered and the pistol grip has the correct Winchester embossed grip cap. It also retains the Winchester embossed butt plate. The front sight is a small blade with ivory bead in the carbine base. The rear sight is the standard carbine ladder sight with the slide intact. Overall there are traces of blue in the more protected areas- around the saddle ring, rear of the receiver on the right side etc. with the balance an aged and uncleaned gray. All markings are sharp, screw heads are fine, checkering on the forend is lightly worn as is the checkering on the pistol grip. Looks like there is a crack coming back from the upper and lower tangs that has been repaired in a way that is almost imperceptible and visible through the checkering only in direct bright light. Tight action and strong safety half-cock, exc. bore. This one came out of here in Montana and was obviously used but well taken care of.
