Description:
This is a very nice example of a late Spreewerke P38 with a COG hammer. The left side of the slide is marked "P.38", "cyq" and "b 2494" with a Russian capture "X". The left side of the frame is marked "b 2494" and an "88". The left barrel flat is marked with an "Eagle / 88" and "cyq". The front barrel flat is marked "b 2494". The right barrel flat is marked eagle over "B88" and CYQ. The bottom of the locking block is marked "494 / h", the right side is marked with an "Eagle / 88". The right side of the slide is marked with two "Eagle / 88" Waffenamts, with an Eagle Swastika in the center. The front sight is a dovetailed blade. The rear sight is a "U"-notch dovetailed to the rear of the slide. The grips are made by Julius Posselt with five grooves broken by the grip screw. The top circle on the left grip is marked "1W / 31" and "9" in the bottom circle". The right is marked "1W / 41" and "5" in the bottom circle. The Walther banner 8 round magazine is marked "3/63". 9mm Parabellum
