Description:
This is a nice example of a Walther-made, "ac 42"-coded P.38. The left side of the slide is marked "P.38, "AC42" and "3079 E". The right is marked with two eagle over "359" waffenamts and an eagle / swastika between them. The left of the frame is marked "3079 E" and with eagle over "359" waffenamt above the trigger guard. The front face of the barrel assembly is marked "3079 / E" and the left side is marked with an eagle over 359" waffenamt at the front. The right side of the barrel assembly is marked with a "B" in a circle and "45". The right of the locking block is marked with an eagle over "359". The left side of the locking block is marked with an eagle / swastika proof and "3". The bottom of the block is marked "079 / c". The front sight is a dovetailed blade. The rear sight is a "U"-notch dovetailed to the rear of the slide. The grips are AEG two-piece serrated synthetic panel with six groves broken by the grip screw. The top one is relatively short. They are marked in the bottom circle with P 1529 /3 on the left and P 1528 /3 on the right and with 38/Z3 at their tops. This has a single 8 round magazine marked on the spine with an eagle over "359". It also is marked on the left side "P38". 9mm Parabellum
