Description:
COLT 1911 .45ACP made in 1918 with serial No 398203.  The Colt 1911s made between serial numbers 375,000 and 625,000 were often called "Black Army" because the course wartime finish appeared almost black.  No inspector's cartouche from serial number 302,000 to serial number 625,000 with those passing inspection having the eagle over number acceptance mark and NO ARSENAL REWORK STAMPS.  Today, this pistol no longer has the dark black finish, however, it is in astonishingly excellent condition, 5" barrel with bright glossy bore with "P" stamp, original 2-tone magazine, pristine diamond checkered walnut grips, smooth trigger and backstrap, lanyard ring and excellent finish with sharp legible stamps and lettering.  This is truly a magnificent treasure from WWI...a must for any Colt aficionado or WWI historian.  Not mmany left in this pristine condition...this fine firearm comes in a high quality Boyt canvas and leather zipper carry case.  The price is $5500 including UPS shipping to the FFL dealer near you.  Call or text me at 318-780-4242 if you are interested.  Meanwhile, enjoy the pictures.
