A Very Early U.S. Civil War Military Issued Smith Carbine In Fine Untouched Condition. Very early serial #173, with all matching numbers. The early carbine has fine metal, markings & edges throughout. It is fully U.S. Sub Inspected. The barrel and top strap on the carbine both retain all of their original factory blue on them. The frame retains a mix of original case colors mixing with a natural brown patina. The trigger guard has a mix of blue and patina while the butt plat has mostly the same patina on it. All screws are fine throughout. The original wood is fine to excellent with fine edges on it. There are two clear U.S. inspectors cartouches on the backside. The carbine has a fine action and very good bore in it. This Early U.S. Civil War Military Issued Smith Carbine Has A Wonderful Fine Look To It And Would be A Nice Addition To Any Fine Civil War Collection!
