A Scarce & Early U.S. Civil War Military Issued Joslyn Model 1862 Carbine In Very Good Untouched Condition. Early serial #2207 with all matching numbers. The carbine has very good, metal, markings & edges throughout. Marked on the lock, "JOSLYN FIRE ARMS CO./STONINGTON/CONN". It is U.S. sub inspected "TKL" on all parts. All of the metal on the carbine has a very untouched natural dark and even natural patina throughout it. The metal has good edges to it. The brass trigger guard, butt plate, and barrel band are all fine & untouched. All screws are very good throughout. The original wood on the carbine is good throughout with good edges and a nice even dark color to it. There is an old civil war period repair to it at the narrow part of the stock behind the tang. This old period repair is worn evenly into the wood and is smooth from use. There is a faint U.S. Inspectors mark on the backside of the wood above the plate. It has a very good bore and tight action. This Early & Scarce U.S. Civil War Military Issued Joslyn Model 1862 Carbine Has A Good Untouched Look Throughout!
