CLASSIC, ATTIC CONDITION 1894 .30WCF ROUND BARREL RIFLE, #851XXX, MADE 1917. This one came out of here in Montana and looks like it was used and then stored away for a number of decades. The barrel and mag tube retain about all the deep blue. The receiver blue has naturally aged to an uncleaned and most attractive even blue/plum. The screws in the receiver appear unturned and there is good blue on the loading gate. All markings are sharp and clear. Buckhorn rear sight with elevator bar intact and blade front sight. Stock and forend show normal handling and could use a good cleaning. Tight wood to metal fit. Tight action, strong safety half-cock and minty bright bore. Usually 1894s of this era show flaking of the blue on the receiver and most are now silver/gray. This 108 year old 1894 has strong visual appeal.
