The Ruger® Mini-14® Semi-Auto Rifle is a scaled down version of the US M-14 with no selective fire switch. All models of Ruger's Mini-14 semi-auto rifles have a solid reputation for being absolutely reliable under all conditions, and have proven themselves in both law enforcement and military use worldwide. The Mini-14 operates with a very simple Garand-style design that uses a fixed-piston gas system where gas impinges directly upon the operating rod, and a breech bolt locking system. The Mini-14 action is not sensitive to the type of ammunition it uses, cycling both commercial .223 Remington and 5.56 NATO ammo interchangeably. A large extractor and fixed ejector send spent cases flying swiftly to the right of the shooter. The ejector is set to eject cases low to avoid hitting a mounted scope. No tools are required to quickly fieldstrip the rifle down to a few large parts that are not easily misplaced, and it reassembles just as quickly. Integral scope mounts are machined into the receiver for mounting a scope. The Ruger Mini-14 is a fast handling rifle that's great for hunting, home-defense, and emergency preparation.
