"Serial No. 87846, made in 1937 at Tula Arsenal, 7.62x54R, 20" round barrel. Rifle was converted in the 1950s from a full-length 1891/30 into a shortened carbine configuration, similar in size to the M44 but lacking the folding bayonet. Barrel is import marked, and serial numbers are matching throughout. Finish shows light handling and usage wear consistent with storage and intermittent postwar use. These rifles were part of a Soviet refurbishment program and were often exported to allied nations such as Bulgaria and others within the Eastern Bloc. Action is smooth and functions correctly. A solid Cold War-era surplus rifle, representing the final evolution of the Mosin-Nagant platform.
