Synopsis:

Colt M1911A1 pistol manufactured in 1943 with standard WWII military markings, parkerized finish, and checkered Keyes Fiber grips.

Description:

Standard configuration 1911A1 manufactured by Colt in 1943, the left side of the slide marked with the usual two-line Colt address. The model designation, SN, and U.S. Army markings are on the right side of the frame. Proofing includes the “P” on top of the slide and on the left frame below the magazine release, both barely breaking through the parkerized finish. The left side of the frame has the “GHD” inspection mark. The ordnance wheel is very lightly stamped on the right frame near the tang. It is fitted with serrated front sight and drift adjustable rear sights, checkered slide release, thumb safety, and hammer; short grip safety, and checkered Keyes Fiber grips with reinforcements around the screws. Blued magazine marked with an ‘L’ on the toe. Disassembly shows the left side of the chamber marked "COLT 45 AUTO," barrel lug marked with a "P" (left side) and nothing (right side).

Condition:

Near excellent, original parkerizing with light sharp edge and handling wear, usual scratch below slide release lever, as carefully imaged. Comparable condition salt blued barrel, various small parts, grips and magazine. Mirror bore. Correct manual mechanics. A very nice, no excuse, original finish Colt 1911A1 from mid WWII that should satisfy any collector.
