This pistol is based off of the original that is illustrated in color on page 50 of the book entitled Paterson Colt Pistol Variations by Philip Phillips and R.L. Wilson. This gun, number 235, was issued as one of 1000 from the United States Historical Society in Richmond Virginia. It comes with the original certificate stating such. The Samuel Colt Company made the Texas Paterson guns from 1837 until 1840. This gun has the 7 1/2-inch barrel that has the inlaid silver bands on front and back in the ornate engraving on the sides. Along the top of the barrel it reads "Samuel Colt Texas Paterson" the frame of the gun has the equally ornate and beautiful engraving and chisel work. The cylinder has the intricate rolled scene with the double silver bands you can see that the hammer as well as loading lever has the beautiful vivid factory case coloration. The grips of the gun are made of gorgeous mother-of-pearl that accents the gun superbly. The hardwood case has only minor marks from handling. Tools included are a 36- caliber bullet mold, cleaning rod, powder flask and a capper, all in excellent condition. I will be out of the shop September 12-19. Price: $4,200.00 |
