Browning Model 78 Rifle chambered for 25-06 Remington. The 78 was basically a resurrection of the old Winchester High Wall. This elegant rifle has a high polish steel blue receiver that is drilled and tapped for scope mounting. It has an octagonal sporter contour barrel. It has a lever operated single shot falling block action. It has a checkered walnut pistol grip style gloss finish stock with Monte Carlo cheek piece and polished steel grip cap. A Simmons Whitetail 6.5-20x50 scope with rings and bases included. The .25-06 Remington is based on the .30-06 Springfield cartridge necked down to .257 caliber. The .25-06 is generally considered to be a good round for medium-sized game such as deer and antelope because of its combination of substantial kinetic energy and moderate recoil.
