Best Quality Pre-War(1930's) Verney-Carron SLE Heliduplex . Verney-Carron's best offering before WW2 made by order only (very few in existence) 30" triple-proved chopper lump barrels with factory 2 3/4"(70mm) chambers, sideclips with triple lockup including top extension similar to Webley. This is an extremely strong action.
The stock is a beautiful piece of French walnut with English style straight grip measuring 14-1/4" LOP to back of the leather pad, 1-3/4" DAC and 2-3/4" DAH with slight right hand cast, condition is abou 85%. Ejector gun with gold-plated lockwork in action and forend, hinged front trigger, concave rib. The 30" fluid steel barrels retain about 90% of the original finish with no scratches or dents, chokes are: right .016 left 0.27 perfect for sporting clays, pigeons shooting or just hunting. Amazing relief scroll, vine and oak leaf engraving in 98% condition with very little darkening of the metal. The quality and workmanship on this gun is one of the best I've seen in forty years in this business.
Overall a very rare high quality shotgun in excellent working condition.
