"Jeff has been a strong supporter of the work of my organization in the service of our nation's cherished Veterans.  And the M1 Garand he helped me find is a proud part of my personal collection, something I’ll hand down to my son one day." – Andrew Biggio, Author of “THE RIFLE” Volumes I and II

"I was looking for a really nice M1 Garand for the WWII wing of the Gettysburg Museum of History, and am utterly pleased with the example Jeff suggested and personally delivered." - Erik Dorr, Curator GMOH, Author, Historian

"As the Granddaughter of the real 'Rosie the Riveter,' WWII and all of the members of the 'Greatest Generation' mean a lot to me and my family.  I'd always hoped to add an M1 Garand to my collection as a means of honoring my Grandmother, and Jeff connected me with a great one!  Thank you so much!" – Sarah Richmond

***ABOUT ME***:

I’m a believer in old fashioned communication, and that a man’s word matters.  I’ve been collecting Garands for over 30 years.  I’m also an 01FFL.  I have a genuine passion for these rifles.  There was a time, not so long ago, when the M1 Garand literally helped save the world.  Now it’s our job to care for and protect them, so that future generations may never forget the lessons they can teach us…
In that spirit, I have been honored to help countless  Americans find their perfect M1 Garand.

***I WANT TO TALK TO YOU!***:

***HISTORICAL BACKDROP***:

It is DECEMBER of 1944, this stunning M1 Garand rifle rolling off of the storied Springfield Armory Assembly line concurrent with one of the most pivotal, poignant chapters in all of World War II - The Battle of the Bulge - also known as the Ardennes Offensive.  The U.S. 99th Infantry Division, outnumbered five to one, inflicted casualties in the ratio of eighteen to one.
***DESCRIPTION***:

------------------------------------------------------------------

HAVING HANDLED COUNTLESS GARANDS OVER THE YEARS, I CAN TELL YOU THAT MOST FOLKS HOPE TO FIND A RIFLE IN THE EXACT ORIGINAL FORM IN WHICH IT MIGHT HAVE STORMED THE BEACHES OF NORMANDY, OR PELELIU, OR ACCOMPANIED ITS G.I. INTO THE EAGLE'S NEST AT BERCHTESGADEN.  RIFLES LIKE THIS ARE QUITE FEW AND FAR BETWEEN…

THE VERY SPECIAL M1 GARAND ON OFFER HERE IS INDEED FOR THE JUST SUCH A COLLECTOR.

This extremely handsome, 100% ORIGINAL & CORRECT U.S. Property Marked and Army-Issued M1 GARAND is a quintessential “BATTLE RIFLE” example of Mr. John C. Garand’s masterpiece.

The subject rifle features ORIGINAL USGI WWII SPRINGFIELD FURNITURE, fashioned of beautiful American Black Walnut, with the gorgeous brown/red hue that only evolves after decades of life and service.  If you’ve studied Garands you’ll know how rare it is in 2025 for a WWII example to retain its authentic, original wood (the vast majority of original WWII stocks were discarded in the early 1950s, the armorers never imagining that these wooden artifacts would one day be considered historical treasures).  The ORIGINAL “S.A.  N.F.R.”, CROSSED CANNONS, AND CIRCLE “P” PROOFS ARE IN PLACE.  The overall wood condition is wonderful, exuding that “Battle Rifle” aura, perfectly balancing fielded military character with high condition.  The receiver metal is also in its ORIGINAL FINISH, uniform & smooth, ZERO PITTING UNDER OR OVER THE WOOD LINE.  ALL metal surface finishes have worn evenly together and are in agreement.  The receiver characters are crisp.  Mechanically smooth and excellent in its action, its ORIGINAL WWII USGI 12-44 SA BARREL IS EXCELLENT, BRIGHT, GREAT LANDS AND GROOVES, WITH A SUPER STRONG PROFILE OF TE “2+”, ME 3+, ALL ITS LIFE STILL IN IT FOR YOUR YOU’RE YOUR HEIRS’) SPECIAL DAYS AT THE RANGE.  Chambered in .30-06, just as God intended.  ALL PARTS 100% ORIGINAL/CORRECT & AUTHENTIC.
Saving Private Ryan... Band of Brothers... this iconic rifle is perfectly emblematic of what those men carried.

***NON-RECLAIMED RECEIVER***

For decades the CMP has been the wellspring of our national M1 Garand supply.  But the CMP has recently announced that they are all but exhausted of “Original” (to use their term, “Legacy”) M1 Garands.  They may be able to bring more “lend-lease” Garand rifles back to the U.S. from overseas in the years to come, but that process is complicated and uncertain.  By necessity, therefore, the CMP is now rehabilitating (“Reclaiming”) a number of Parade/Drill Garands, which are rifles that were once in service, but were at some point in time welded closed and deactivated.  ACCORDINGLY, FROM THIS MOMENT (SUMMER 2025) FORWARD, RIFLES FRESHLY RELEASED FROM CMP ARE ASSUMED TO BE NEWLY ASSEMBLED ON RECLAIMED RECEIVERS, *UNLESS THE SELLER CLEARLY STATES THAT IT IS NOT AND CAN PROVE IT.*.  ALL GARAND-BUYERS SHOULD BE ASKING ANY SELLER OF AN M1 GARAND THAT THEY ARE CONSIDERING FOR CLARIFICATION AS TO WHETHER OR NOT A SUBJECT RIFLE IS BUILT ON A RECLAIMED RECEIVER.

Such “Reclaimed” rifles will still be historic, attractive, and the CMP is undertaking a diligent regimen in their reclaiming process.  But my personal opinion is that most Collectors and shooters alike will continue to strongly prefer “Original” or as I call them, “HEIRLOOM” - M1 Garand rifles, all other things being equal.  As such, ANY M1 GARAND YOU SEE ME OFFERING WILL BE NON-RECLAIMED ONLY.

***THE BIG PICTURE: WHY THE M1 GARAND RIFLE STILL MATTERS TODAY***:

Historians have been warning for decades that America is at risk of losing its “National Memory.”  Its memory of all it has accomplished.  Its understanding of its place in the world as a force for Good. Its recognition that, should it falter in its central values and commitments, the vacuum left behind will not be replaced by a blank space…

History matters - Honor matters - Honesty matters - Love of Country matters - Goodwill & Brotherhood matters.

The M1 Garand rifle - alongside so many other tangible icons of “The Greatest Generation” - help us teach these values to our kids and grandkids.  The impact and importance of this cannot be overstated.

President Ronald Reagan, in his farewell address, said it best (there was a reason he was called "The Great Communicator"):

“We’ve got to teach history based not on what’s in fashion, but what’s important Who Jimmy Doolittle was, and what those thirty seconds over Tokyo meant.  What the Boys of Pointe du Hoc sacrificed.  If we forget what we did we won’t know who we are.  An eradication of the American memory could result, and, ultimately, in the erosion of the American spirit itself.  Let’s start with the basics: More attention to American History.”

???????***POST SCRIPT***:

The Red and Blue patch you see in my listing photos is the proud insignia of The 69th Infantry, “The Fighting 69th”, the group to which my grandfather was attached during the War.  The 69th Infantry was formed in 1943 and deployed to England in Dec. 1944.  Landing at the French port of Le Havre in late January 1945, advancing into Belgium, then quickly pushing into Germany, the Fighting 69th crossed the Rhine River by late March.  Their steady drive eastward to Saxony continued, where they captured the city of Leipzig on April 19, uncovering and liberating the Buchenwald sub-camp of Leipzig-Thekla, immediately rendering care for the approximately 100 survivors.  Less than one week later, the 69th would become the very first American unit to make contact with the Soviet armed forces in the town of Torgau.

I know that many readers have/had a family member, often more than one, who contributed to the War Effort, and in all sorts of capacities (not all heroes carried a weapon).  Those who do/did will know the solemn pride I feel when I think about my Grandfather’s - and ALL the members’ of the Greatest Generation - exploits in the War, and how they will continue to echo through history.  We lost him in 2017 at the age of 95.  What I wouldn’t give to talk to him one more time, to ask him one more question, and to tell him again how much he meant to me.
