Description: Rare .308 Win. version of the Galil battle rifle manufactured in Israel and imported by Action Arms in the 1980's.  Features a 20" barrel with muzzle factory muzzle device.  The left side of the receiver is marked, “AAL-2078978/ ACTION ARMS LTD. PHILA. PA./ S.AUTO GALIL CAL .308 WIN. MODEL 332 IMI-ISRAEL”.  The safety selector is marked, “S F” on the left side at the top of the pistol grip and “SF” on the safety selector lever on the right side.  The left side of the rear sight is marked, “8978” depicting the matched last 4 digits of the serial number.  The right side of the receiver near the front is marked, “42X”.  The bottom of the receiver in front of the magwell is marked with a “P” inside of a circle proof mark and "14."  The right side of the folding stock base is marked, “H C”.  The rear aperture is marked, “5” on one aperture and “3” on the other. The top cover is marked, “A”. Features post front and two leaf, adjustable rear peep sights with flip up night sights, folding bipod, grooved wood handguard, carry handle, standard receiver markings, dual safety controls, smooth pistol grip, and a tubular folding metal buttstock. The Israeli Galil was born out of an impossible fight against the onslaught of AK47’s.  After the 6 Day War, Israel captured thousands of Egyptian AK47 rifles and discovered for themselves all the benefits the Kalashnikov rifles provided as durability and maintenance go.  The FN FAL’s they were using were effective but were becoming less effective in the down and dirty conditions warfare had become in the Middle Eastern Deserts. Several designs were offered to the Israeli Defense Force to gain an advantage over the AK47 including the M16, Stoner, rifle design by UZI, the HK33 from Germany, and the Automatic Rifle Machine Gun (ARM) by Yasrael Galil.  The (ARM) Galil was a design taken from the Finnish Valmet RK62 or the civilian M76, also known as the AK47 Perfected and was given a few more designs to make it really the most spankin rifle ever designed.  The Galil was quickly adopted by Israel as their new standard issue rifle and became everyone’s favorite butt kicking machine.  It looks like a dream come true and it feels like a dream come true and for those who have the beautiful privilege of shooting one, they can all testify, it shoots and operates like a dream come true.  A few key features are the tritium flip up night sights, the integral Bipod, the bottle opener Bipod retainers for when you’re thirsty, the Upswept charging handle, thumb safety, and side folding stock among many more glorious internal changes adopted from the Finnish Valmet RK62.  The Galil 332 is simply the semi-automatic version of the Galil ARM.    Very low numbers of these .308 Rifles were brought in and the 332 Model is the most desirable.  Comes as shown with one 12 round IMI magazine.  This rifle could be factory test fired only, it's that clean!
