Here we have a sweetheart of a gun from a LONDON MAKER, and Birmingham Proofed manufactured in 1937. Weighing in at a scant 5lbs. 15oz. and is balanced forward of the pin. The 28” barrels have mirror bores and are choked cylinder and modified. The gun remains in proof with 2 ½” chambers and  3/4oz load, AND WE HAVE PLENTY OF 2 ½” RST AMMUNITION IN STOCK.  However, the breech area has been carefully measured by Vintage Firearms and has plenty of wall thickness (robust at over .100”) so this gun could be easily and quickly lengthened for 2 ¾” shells, please call Vintage Firearms to discuss. This is a special little gun of superior quality with barrels showing 98% factory bluing and a receiver with 40% coverage- excellent fine English scroll; sharp, clear, and untouched, there is 65% factory case color remaining. There is some natural fading at the carry point, genuine wear and a beautiful characteristic of guns carried afield, just right! The stock is fine English Walnut showing moderate figure with an elegant splinter forend capped with a horn Schnabel insert, wood to metal fit is perfect. This gun has extractors so bring home those spent cases for reloading! The trigger pulls clean, is tight on hinge and breech face, ribs are tight and ring like bells; the automatic safety is fully functional, all the mechanics of this side-by-side check out- all ready for decades more service. It is true that London guns are the measure by which all others are judged, and when you handle and mount this Army & Navy London gun you will know exactly what they are referring too!  What an elegant gun for pursuit of game or the elusive clay!  The price is truly a bargain when you look at the quality and beauty of this 88-year-old shotgun.  Vintage Firearms provides the most thorough photos, description, and specifications in the industry, providing you all the information you need to make a wise purchase. Thanks for looking, and don’t hesitate or she’ll be in someone else’s gun cabinet.
