The Nighthawk Custom Thunder Ranch Combat Special is the ultimate combat handgun, designed by the legendary firearms instructor Clint Smith himself. With over 25 years of experience, Thunder Ranch has established itself as the premier facility for law enforcement, military personnel, and civilians alike. This collaboration between Clint and Nighthawk Custom brings together expertise in defensive tactics and unparalleled craftsmanship, resulting in a truly remarkable 1911.
The Thunder Ranch Combat Special starts off as a kit of fully machined intentionally oversized parts. Part by part, the pistol will be hand fit to the tightest tolerances by a single gunsmith. This ensures the utmost attention to detail and precision, guaranteeing a world-class pistol.
The Combat Special is a 5" government size pistol and has extra wide cocking serrations on both the front and rear of the slide. The mainspring housing features a lanyard loop and sports the classic GI Style nub thumb safety. It has a blacked out Heinie Ledge rear sight, and a 14K gold bead front sight. The Thunder Ranch Combat Special is finished with our custom Smoked Nitride finish, giving it a beautiful yet worn classy look while the green and black linen/micarta grips top it off.
The completely custom trigger job provides a crisp, clean break at 3.5-3.75 pounds- making a difference in speed, performance, and accuracy. The whole pistol has been hand-prepped, blended, and beveled. The Thunder Ranch can be chambered in 9mm, .45 ACP, 38 Super or 10mm, upgraded to a recon rail, add a magwell, or even be built with our Interchangeable Optic System cut.
