Description:
Winchester pre-64 Model 70 Featherweight custom .270 Winchester. Serial 453927 is a custom rifle based on a factory barreled action. It has a 22-inch barrel (brass-beaded blade front sight, porting, plugged rear sight dovetail), jeweling (extractor, bolt body, follower), a nickel-plated bolt handle (hollow knob with checkered flat bottom) and engraved bottom metal. The AAA-grade English stock has rosewood accents (forend tip, grip cap, maple spacers), deep oak leaf carving, Monte Carlo comb with scalloped roll-over cheek rest and a thick leather-covered recoil pad. None of the custom work is signed. OPTIC: A Leupold Vari-X III 3.5-10x scope (adjustable objective, gloss finish, .25 MOA clicks, Duplex reticle) is secured in Redfield mounts. DIMENSIONS: Weight (with optic) is 8.8 pounds and the length-of-pull is 13.75 inches. CONDITION: The bore is strong and bright. As reblued, metal finish is approximately 70 percent with softened markings and some plumming on the receiver. Engraving is sharp with 50 percent color case remaining. Wood is approximately 75 percent overall, with a vacant stud hole at the toe, a properly-mated .65-inch spacer (obviously from the original finished blank) ahead of the pad and sling swivel studs. The optic remains clear. The price is firm. $1,250 plus shipping.
