Glenfield (Marlin) Model 60 – 22 LR – 22" Barrel – 1976 Model
The Glenfield line was manufactured by Marlin as a less expensive version from the standard Marlin offerings. Our Glenfield Model 60 (serial number 24523686) was manufactured in 1976 and it’s amazingly well preserved.
This rifle has a 22 inch barrel and a tubular magazine capacity of 18 rounds. The magazine tube rod is brass, which eliminated the earlier problems from steel rods. The brass rod on this one is in Excellent condition.
It’s notable that, on these rifles, Marlin utilized a 16 groove Micro-Groove rifling. This type of rifling deformed the bullet significantly less than normal rifling, resulting in greater accuracy. In fact, many folks believe the Model 60 to be among the most accurate 22LR rifle.
The Model 60 has a cross bolt safety, adjustable rear sight and a fixed front sight. The stock is a Monte Carlo style hardwood with pistol grip.
Our rifle is in Excellent condition. The bore and barrel are both clean. The wood shows only a few light storage marks. The metal is also Excellent and the rifle retains almost all of its original finish. The brass magazine tube rod is in Excellent condition, as is the black buttplate. The muzzle is good with no nicks. Overall, this is a vintage rifle that’s in great shape and at a very reasonable price.
Purchase is for the rifle only, no other accessories are included.
