Payment Types Accepted: Credit Card, Certified Check, Money Order Description: WORLD WAR II Era U.S. SAGINAW M1 Carbine SEMI-AUTO Light Rifle WW2 w/SLING SAGINAW STEERING GEAR DIVISION of GENERAL MOTORS Here we present a C&R U.S. Saginaw M1 Carbine Semi-Automatic Rifle, manufactured in Grand Rapids, Michigan as part of Saginaw Steering Gear Division of General Motors first production block between May 1943 to May 1944 in the 3250020-3651519 serial number range. This .30 caliber semi-automatic rifle was first used by the United States Armed Forces on October 22, 1941. There was a total of 6,110,730 carbines made of all types during the war. Saginaw carbines were produced at two different locations between 1943 and 1944 with identification codes determining the location. The identification code of “S’G” indicated that the carbine was produced their plant in Saginaw, Michigan. A total of 293,592 carbines were produced at this location. The identification code of “S’G’” indicated that the carbine was produced at their plant in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Despite having a similar name and appearance, the M1 Carbine is not a carbine version of the M1 Garand rifle. They are different firearms and use different ammunition. The receiver on this example was manufactured in late 1943, from the first production block (serial number range 3,250,020 to 3,651,519, with those above 3.56 million used by S'G' Grand Rapids) manufactured by the Saginaw Steering Gear Division of General Motors from May 1943 to May 1944. Included is asling, metal oiler, and "UPDIKE AWNING CO./1943" marked dual cellmagazine pouch. The overall condition is very good. This example is arsenal refurbished.
