THIS IS NOT JUST ANOTHER FOX A GRADE.  THIS FOX CHECKS ALL THE BOXES YOU SHOULD WANT CHECKED!  There are always a few 12ga. A Grade Fox guns available to buy, so how do you choose?  Do you want to buy just an old gun that you know little about from a stranger on the internet, or do you want to buy a fine vintage shotgun CERTIFIED BY AN ESTABLISHED COMPANY WITH A 20 YEAR STELLAR REPUTATION IN THE INDUSTRY?  You should know what you are buying and from whom but with most guns for sale on the internet you have nothing to go on but poor photos and anemic descriptions that give you no pertinent information to guide you to an educated decision. Most have had their stocks cut, been poorly restored, heavily used, have buggered up screws, bad shooting dimensions, or have characteristics that just don’t fit your needs.  Many are a box of shells away from an expensive repair.  Buying a Fox that competent gunsmiths have completely stripped, inspected, cleaned and lubricated, a gun that is guaranteed to be in superb mechanical condition makes the most sense.  It is nearly impossible to get quality gunsmithing work on a vintage shotgun these days, so why take a chance on a random internet purchase? This Philly Fox, sn23918 made in 1917, has been very well maintained through its 108 years of existence, with the heavy #1 weight Krupp Steel barrels still tight on the hinge pin and breech face, ribs tight, bores bright, double ivory beads, thick wall thicknesses designed for heavy loads, 2 ¾” chambers, and about 90% blue on the barrels. The wood is original to the gun and has an excellent checkering and oil finish, no cracks, with good dimensions terminating in a buttplate. The gun is a VFI CERTIFIED GUN, WITH 90 DAY MECHANICAL WARRANTY, having been stripped to the smallest part, Ultrasonic cleaned, each part scrubbed and inspected for function and integrity, lubricated, and assembled, good for another decade or so before needing attention, a $325 service.  Our gunsmiths can make alterations to fit your needs within a week or so of purchase. It might be a “month of Sundays” before you see another A Grade Fox completely serviced and ready to go afield.  When you consider all the factors that represent the best value, this gun is a very good buy just in time for the upcoming hunting season. Fox guns have been continuously gaining value as you enjoy their use, making this an excellent investment gun.  See specifications below.  Thanks for looking!
