The COLT M1991A1 was developed in the early 1990s as an upgrade to the original M1911 handgun. It features a beveled magazine well for easier reloading and an extended thumb safety for better grip. In terms of accuracy, Colt's advertising guaranteed 1.5" groups at 25 yards with the M1991A1, and that promise has generally held true.
