Interesting Light Varmint Rifle...chamberd in 17 Mach 1V...a wildcat derived from 221 Fireball and roughly identical to 17 Rem.
Built on a commercial Mauser X action. This interesting cal was the brain child of Vern O Brien a custom rifle builder from Las Vegas in approx 1962 or 1963 . Bullet weights were avail at one time as light as 19 gr (approx the bullet wt of a 22 short) and up to about 25 grains. Velocites are in the Mid 3000 fbs. At one time both Kimber and Cooper chambered their fine rifles in this cal.
Straight grain Americal Walnut stock, nicely hand checkered in approx 100% condition with beautfiully deep blue highly polished metal work and checkered bolt knob
