This is a British World War II civilian Brodie helmet made from Bakelite, this type of helmet would have been made to sell privately to companies and factories, with the scarcity and cost of metal at the time alternative helmets were made like this from Bakelite or fiber resin. This helmet, though not maker marked, is in very good condition for its age, typically these Bakelite helmets are often chipped and damaged, this one has a few bumps and scratches with one hairline crack which is not structural, has its original riveted tan chin strap still attached, liner is complete and in a size 6 3/4, no manufacture on liner.;
