Heym Model 88 B Safari Three Barrel Set w/ Optics and Huey Case.
This well thought out factory original three-barrel set includes two sets of double rifle barrels. One set chambered for .450 3 ¼” NE and the other set chambered for .450/.400 3” NE. The third set of barrels are smooth bores for 20g. The set is complete in a custom case by Huey.
This is the Model 88B Safari A&D style boxlock action w/ double Purdey style under bolts and Greener style cross bolt third fastener. Heym’s design incorporates intercepting sears and gilded cocking indicators on each side of the top lever. Frame is scaled to the cartridge family, slightly bolstered, and hand engraved in an understated Germanic small scroll. Fitted w/ a manual safety and two triggers. Both triggers are cast for the RH shooter and the front trigger is articulated.
The receiver and forend irons are in a brushed or "coin" finish.
The first set of 26” Krupp steel hammer forged shoe lump barrels are chambered for the venerable .450 3 ¼" NE, w/ Heym’s pattern quarter rib that is machine matted and dovetailed/drilled for the factory mounted Dr. Optic red dot sight that is included. The rear sight is 1 standing/1 folding Express sight w/ a gold inlaid triangle on the standing bar and each leaf engraved for yardage (50, 100 yds). Ramp foresight has a traditional brass bead sight blade.
The second set of barrels are also 26” and made of hammer forged Krupp steel w/ shoe lumps. This set of barrels is chambered for the lighter recoiling .450/.400 3” NE. The Heym pattern quarter rib has 1 standing/1 folding Express rear sight w/ a gold inlaid triangle on the standing bar and each leaf engraved for yardage (50, 100 yds). Ramp foresight has a traditional brass bead sight blade.
This rib on th e.450/.400 barrels are also doved tailed/drilled for an additional Dr. Optic red dot sight as well as fitted w/ factory installed tip off mounts for a claw mounted scope. The included scope is a Zeiss 1.1-4x24mm Zenith.
The third set of barrels are made in 20 gauge and are 28” Krupp steel w/ shoe lumps, have 3” chambers, and a raised flat machine matted game rib w/ a single brass bead.
All three sets of barrels have automatic ejectors and their own individual forend.
Each barrel is serial numbered to match the receiver w/ a suffix of /1, /2, or /3 respectively matching them to their forend that is marked in kind.
The butt stock is well laid out and nicely figured walnut w/ a traditional beaded cheekpiece for the RH shooter, a 14 ½" LOP over a factory installed brown rubber recoil pad, and a guard bow tang that extends to the solid two-screw steel grip cap. The stock has a stud sling post along the toe line of the stock and a sling stud attached to the bottom rib of each set of barrels.
The package is complete in a custom made two-tiered Motor case by Marvin Huey. The case has a removeable oak shelf that holds the receiver, a brass oil pot and snap caps for two sets of barrels, and part of the horn handle cleaning rod w/ additional compartments for the Zeiss scope and two Dr. Optic sights. The three sets of barrels lay in the bottom of the case w/ cleaning rod pieces and additional storage compartment. The case is lined in a burgundy baize and the outside covered in a chocolate brown Cape buffalo hide w/ brass fittings and leather corners.
Rifle weighs 10 lbs. 5 oz. w/ either set of rifle barrels attached and 7 lbs. 15 oz. w/ the shotgun barrels attached.
The package remains in as new condition and available for immediate delivery.
