Here is a wonderful little 98 Mauser sporter by Bob Mason of Weippe, Idaho. Over the years, Bob has built a small number of rifles of the highest quality. With this example, Bob opted to keep the original barrel, which is 18" with a like-new bore. The action is smooth, and there is a Buehler safety. A Redfield aperture sight has been installed. The wood is a fabulous piece of English walnut with crisp checkering and a European-style cheek-piece. The inletting is first rate. The length of pull is 13 3/4", and the rifle weighs in at 6 lbs 9 oz. A fantastic rifle from a very talented maker.
