This is a US M1873 Trapdoor Socket Bayonet. The 18" blade retains none of the original bluing with "US over J" on the ricasso, the blade is good, only light marks from age with light oxidation, fine pitting. The tip is excellent with no deviation. The 3" socket is in good condition with light marks from use and oxidation.;
