Made circa 1927, serial 14385 (matching) is a scalloped boxlock with 24.75-inch rust blued barrels (matted rib, integral front sight ramp with silver-beaded blade and pop-up moon sight, sling loop, standing and folding express blades with matted faces, integral claw mounts, ejectors) and a color case action (side clips, cocking indicators, automatic safety and adjustable triggers (color case). STOCK: Crafted from select Turkish walnut, the splinter is accented with a tapering ebony tip and 24 lines-per-inch wrap checkering. The butt is detailed with petite ebony drop points, a fluted comb point, scalloped pancake with shadow line, horn tang extension and grip cap, toe line sling loop and a leather-faced recoil pad. OPTIC: A Hensoldt-Wetzlar Dailytan 4x (tube dimensions 1.045 inches at the rear “ring” and 1.525 inches at the front “ring”, tapering post/crosshair reticle, clear optics, unmarked lenses) is secured in a detaching mounting system that operates quickly and locks tightly. Leather cover with retaining strap is present. ENGRAVING: The action wears a detailed floral and scroll pattern to full coverage. A “C” centers on the opening lever. DIMENSIONS: Weight (with optic) is 9.2 pounds. Length-of-pull is 15.0 inches, inclusive of a .950-inch splice as well as the recoil pad. Measurement to the splice is 13.2 inches. A one-inch Pachmayr Decelerator will be installed at the splice sans charge upon request, bringing the LOP to +/- 14.0 inches. CONDITION: Bores and chambers are strong/bright. Barrels are properly on face. Ejectors and triggers operate as they should. Lever rests just right of center. Barrel finish is approximately 85 percent as are the receiver colors. Wood has added finish on the splinter and the stock was refinished when lengthened and finish condition matches that of the metal. INCLUSIONS: A takedown hard case (oak & leather, Glaser label) with leather sling, leather muzzle cover, ebony-handled turnscrew, snaps, oiler and rod is present and shows in fair condition. NOTES: According to the included documents, the rifle was acquired by the consigning estate in 1965 from Abercrombie & Fitch in San Francisco. It was regulated by in 1998 by NECG for 286-grain Norma softs and included test targets show -/+ MOA 100-yard groups as fired by right and left.
