Serial Number: N611824
Built on the same N frame as the famous Dirty Harry .44 mag the Smith & Wesson Model 27-2 fires the slightly less powerful, but still plenty potent- .357 Magnum round. This gun is serial number N611824, it was manufactured c1979 which is the last year Smith & Wesson offered the 5” barrel. The gun shows 99% factory bluing and a mirror bore, the barrel is pinned and the cylinder is counter bored. The target hammer and trigger show vivid factory case color while the top strap is milled with ten rows of checkering that provide an excellent distortion free sighting plain. The walnut grips are in excellent shape with a few handling marks on the heel, the checkering is in superb condition. Cocking the hammer on this gun is a satisfying combination of sound and mechanical perfection leading to a SA trigger break of 3.9lb, DA is likewise smooth at 11lb+. The wide target trigger making accurate pressure control easy. The big N frame makes this gun a joy to shot with either .357 magnum or .38 special rounds. This gun is complete with its factory presentation case, tools and paper, it even has its original cardboard shipping sleeve, how rare is that! A great addition to any Smith & Wesson collection.
