Own 1 of 24,000 carbines manufactured by Spencer Rifel Co. Boston Mass. Stamped on receiver is date March 6, 1860. 39" overall length with 24"-barrel apppears to show 7 groves. Original saddle ring and sling ring affixed to left side of stock. Overall condition is good. The rear flip-up sight is missing the elevation slide.the 7-round magazine tube's flange is broken off. There is an 11" stable split in the smsooth wood stock beginning at the metal butt plate going forward to the cheek rest. You can own an original Civil War antique - not a reproduction.
