Description:
This Winchester Model 70 was manufactured in 1953. It is chambered in .375 H&H Magnum with a 25" barrel. According to The Rifleman's Rifle (p.100) by Roger Rule, only 2.41% of the pre-64 Model 70s were chambered in .375. The barrel is a C1 barrel made by Winchester specifically for larger calibers. The electropenciled bolt matches the rifle's serial number.
This rifle features a Lyman 6W dual folding rear sight with 25 base made for the C1 barrel. The front sight is hooded. Also included with this Model 70 is a Weaver KV 2.75-5X scope with Weaver Pivot Mount rings. The scope has standard crosshair reticle (1" tube).
The rifle is in excellent condition. The Monte Carlo stock presents well with only minor handling marks. The checkering feels sharp to the touch. The stock also has correct red factory magnum buttpad.
The bluing is also in excellent condition. There are no scratches or freckles. The rifling is crisp and clean.
This rifle presents no aplogies, excuses, or surprises.
