The Taurus Circuit Judge is a carbine-style revolver developed by Taurus and Rossi that combines the features of a rifle and a revolver, allowing it to fire both .45 Colt cartridges and .410-gauge shotshells from an 18.5-inch rifled barrel. Introduced by Rossi, it was designed for hunting and shooting and included features like a hardwood or synthetic stock, a fiber optic front sight, and a scope mount base. While it uses a rifled barrel, which generally classifies it as a rifle, its ability to fire shotshells led to its classification as a short-barreled shotgun under California state law, but not under federal law.
