This is an extremely handsome rifle that was built on an original Remington-Hepburn action that has retained nearly all of the original color case-hardened finish throughout. The breechblock retains a commensurate amount of newer rust blue, with some trace silvering along the exposed edges and surfaces, while the hammer has about 80-85% rust blue remaining and light gray on the balance. Double-set target triggers are installed. The unmarked barrel is of modern manufacture and is not drilled and tapped for either scope blocks, or a rear barrel sight. A globe front sight with lollipop style insert is installed, mated to a tang-mounted Vernier rear sight with adjustable aperture disk. The walnut forend and buttstock have beautiful tiger stripe grain, with some very minor handling marks scattered about the otherwise excellent varnish. The buttstock has a smooth pistol-grip and a shadow-line cheek-piece on the left side. The rifle weighs just under 13 lbs., and would make an excellent target rifle. Antique; Price: $4,495.00 |
