Listed for sale is this very nice original flintlock Model 1795 Harpers Ferry Type 4 musket dated very clearly on the lock "1818" .This is not a reconverted musket. To find one of this type in original flintlock is very rare. Full length walnut stock with no repairs and full length barrel also. Good bore and well marked breech proofs. Missing the sling swivels--easy fix. original rod and original bands. Stock is well marked on the counter pane with clear inspectors cartouche. This musket is clearly a survivor--having come thru the earliest war periods in this country and to still be in the original flint. One of the basic muskets to form a collection centered on Harpers Ferry . Displays well and has no problems you will have to try to explain. Priced very fairly for such a rare Harpers Ferry musket.
