"Serial number V654790. Made circa 1942-1944. 38 Special with a barrel just short of 3". The barrel has been shortened. This gun has most of the arsenal finish. The grips have been replaced and the lanyard ring hole filled. This gun has British proof marks. The OSS gave these to resistance fighter throughout WWII. This one probably made its way back to the states and was modified for more commercial use.
