Description:
NSN, .45-100 Sharps (2.4"), 34" heavy octagon barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is an extremely handsome rifle that has 98-99% of an excellent, recently applied color case-hardened finish on the frame, with a commensurate amount of bright blue on the breechblock and hammer. The pin retainer on the left side of the frame has a lustrous fire blue finish, as do most of the screw heads. The barrel is not fitted with a fronts sight, but scope blocks are installed, and the top tang is drilled and tapped for a Vernier sight. Double-set triggers are installed. The smooth walnut forend has beautifully feathered grain along the entire length, with bright color case-hardening on the steel tip. The uncheckered walnut buttstock is cast for a right-handed shooter and has a handful of very minor handling marks in the otherwise excellent varnish. Like the forend tip, the checkered steel buttplate retains vivid color case-hardening throughout. The rifle weighs 13 lbs. 13 oz., and is in excellent condition. Antique;
