Consecutive pair of Piotti King shotguns in 12 and 20 gauge. Serials 8548 (12) and 8549 (20) each have 26.75-inch serial-matching barrels and an extra set of 29.2-inch barrels (serialed consecutive to each other and ordered with the shotguns). Each set has fixed chokes (12 is M/F and IM/F while the 20 is IC/F and IM/F), hand-filed ribs with single beads, 2.75-inch chambers and ejectors. Features include rust blue over the barrels, automatic safeties and single non-select triggers (stippled faces, rolled guards). STOCKS: Crafted from outstanding English walnut blank sets, appointments include hand-rubbed oil finishes, beavertails with wrapping double-bordered 28 lines-per-inch checkering and leather-faced recoil pads. ENGRAVING: Signed by Granetti at the triggers, the actions wear an intricate relief leaf and vine pattern to full coverage. DIMENSIONS: With the serialed barrels, the 12 is 6.8 pounds and the 20 is 6.2 pounds. Lengths-of-pull are 14.6 inches, drops are 1.5 and 2.1 inches, and cast off is approximately .3-inch. CONDITIONS: Bores are outstanding, barrels full on face, ejectors work with enthusiasm, trigger pulls are crisp and opening levers rest right. The 12 serialed barrels are at least 95 percent blue with trace silvering at the muzzles and receiver. Second barrels are approximately 98 percent. Action/engraving is 99 percent. Beavertail is approximately 95 percent with a small rejoined chip at the left rear corner. Butt is approximately 95 percent, the adjustment from a modest distribution of rubs and impressions. The 20 serialed barrels are approximately 95 percent blue with trace instances of thinning. Second barrels are approximately 97 percent. Action/engraving is 99 percent. Beavertail is approximately 95 percent with a bit of uneven varnish along the top edges (likely contaminated with cleaning solution or lingering preservative). Butt is approximately 95 percent with a scattering of impressions (mostly from ear protection on the left side). INCLUSIONS: Four cases are included - two Negrini hard cases (these hold both barrel sets) with the Piotti logo and two leather and wool felt cases (original with the shotguns and hold only one barrel set) with makers labels and canvas covers. All cases are in excellent condition. The original proof certificates are present. The price is firm and layaway is available.
