Description: WINCHESTER MODEL 1892 TAKEDOWN - BEAUTIFULLY RESTORED - 25-20 WCF - 1909 MANUFACTURER - WINCHESTER - USA MODEL - MODEL 1892 ACTION - TAKE-DOWN LEVER-ACTION SN - 500125 CALIBER - 25-20 WCF LOP - 13" WEIGHT - 6 LB 2 OZ BARREL LENGTH - 24" PRODUCED - 1909 SIGHTS - WINCHESTER EXPRESS REAR SIGHT WITH FLIP UP LEAFS AND BRASS BLADE FRONT SIGHT Beautifully restored Winchester Model 1892 takedown in 25-20 WCF, serial number 500125, manufactured in 1909 and offered in superb, ready-to-enjoy condition. The 24" round barrel has a bright, excellent bore that has been neatly relined; the refinished metal shows about 99% freshly reapplied polished blue with only a few light handling marks and the faintest remnants of original pin-prick pitting, while the nosecap, lever, hammer and crescent buttplate display vibrant, lively case colors. Markings are crisp and intact, including the tang stamp “MOD. / 1892” seen on examples from this serial range (often associated with export pieces), and the takedown mechanism functions cleanly for easy storage and transport. The checkered buttstock and forend are tasteful replacement pieces finished in a fine oil that shows handsome grain and only light handling wear; there is a discreet filler along the top edges of the forend where it meets the barrel, which does not detract from the rifle’s presentation or function. Sighted with Winchester’s classic express rear with flip-up leaves (the right side 100-yard leaf is missing) and a brass blade front, this is an excellent, honest restoration that wears like a matched pair of period-correct parts and a careful restoration—equally at home as a shooter, a display piece, or the centerpiece of a vintage lever-gun collection. It is unknown who did the restoration work but it is of the highest quality. FLAT $50 S/H/I. 4%CREDIT CARD FEE APPLIES.
