Description:
Belgian Anciens Establishment Pieper Sidelock, 16 Ga, 28" Barrels

Anciens Establishment Pieper sidelock Side by Side in 16 Ga, a classic Belgian field gun from Herstal built with 28" barrels, 2 3/4" chambers, and a solid tapered rib.

Barrels are joined by the Demi?Bloc process for a stronger, well?regulated assembly. A Straight English wood stock, double triggers, and a two?choke setup (Left: 26/1000" IM; Right: 15/1000" Mod) deliver lively handling and versatile performance.

Proof marks include “Pour Poudres Vives” indicating smokeless powder proof and “Acier Bayard” for Bayard steel, with the AEP knight?on?horse Bayard logo stamped on both sides.

Condition presents as honest field wear: a few handling marks on the stock with a small indent on the left side; barrels retain approximately 80% of their bluing, and a silver bead sight is fitted. Dating to 1924 in Belgium, this example measures an overall length of 44 1/2", with neutral cast, LOP 14 1/4", LOP to wood 14 1/8", DAC 1 3/4", and DAH 2 3/8". It is configured with extractors, automatic safety, and no barrel selector.
