COLT Model 1900, the first Colt automatic model and the first commercially available automatics available in the USA.
SN # 3703 Sight Safety Altered
38 auto
6 inch long slide with the parellel ruler design by Browning.
Manufactured in 1902, one of only 4273 total manufactured.
Matching slide # 3703
Round stub hammer.
Front plunge milled serrations on slide.
Rubber grips. Convex take down.
Markings: BROWNING's PATENT               COLTS PATENT FIRE ARMS MFG CO  (circled rampant Colt)
                PATD APRIL 20, 1897                  HARTFORD CONN USA
                "K" forward slide retaining groove which may indicate a return to the Colt factory.
                "0" stamped on barrel recess grove on frame.
