"Serial No. 5228584, made mid-1944, .30 Carbine, 18" round barrel marked “INLAND MFG DIV / GENERAL MOTORS / 4-44", confirming correct wartime Inland production. The rifle has been arsenal-refitted postwar, featuring a bayonet lug barrel band marked “KI", a Type III round bolt, and a Type III adjustable rear sight marked with “HI", all standard modifications in U.S. military rebuild programs. The original push-button safety has been replaced with a flip-style safety for improved handling. The low wood stock shows light handling marks; right side has Ordnance escutcheon with “18G" painted on the stock. Inside the sling well is marked “HI" Action is smooth and functions correctly.
