This is smokeless frame revolver that has matching numbers on the frame, trigger guard, and backstrap. The barrel, ejector housing, and cylinder have a darkly mottled gray patina with thin freckling throughout, as well as some traces of original blue on protected areas. The frame has a slightly brighter gray patina with traces of muted original color case-hardening peeking out from under areas of plum-brown freckling. The trigger guard has a darker plum-brown patina with original blue remaining on the protected areas of the bow, and the backstrap has a dark, mottled plum-brown patina for most of its length. The hammer has a mottled gray patina, while the trigger retains some of the original bright blue along the side flats. The original hard rubber Colt grips are in good shape, with flattening to the checkering points on both panels, and some minor chipping at the toe of the butt. The lock-up is still tight and the action is fully functional. The revolver is accompanied by a 2024 dated Colt Factory letter that confirms the configuration and lists a shipping date of September 29, 1898, to H&D Folsom Arms Co. of New Orleans, LA. This revolver was the only gun in the shipment. This is a good looking Antique 1st Generation SAA revolver, with shipment to a famous New Orleans dealer, and would make a nice addition to a collection. Antique; Price: $4,495.00 Antique: Yes |
