Description:
Reduced to $4250.  Listed is a cased Holland & Holland 12 Gauge Double Barrel Back Action Hammer Shotgun with serial number 21796, believe made around 1900, with a Holland & Holland Oak and Leather case.

It has 30 inch steel barrels factory choked Cylinder in the right barrel and Modified in the left barrel and has factory 2 ½ inch chambers.  Nitro proofed for 1 1/8 ounce loads.  It has a straight stock with a blued smooth steel butt plate.  Barrels retain most all their blue and the receiver still has some case color visible.  The barrels are perfect with no pits, dents or bulges and ring perfectly like church chimes.  Have no measurements of barrel wall thickness.  As is common for some hammer guns, with the right hammer cocked, the barrels will not open because of the opening lever interference with the right hammer being cocked.

Wood appears to have been redone and having most of its flat finish and maintains perfect wood to metal fit on all parts of the gun. The inside of both locks are marked “JOSEPH BRAZIER”.  Gun weighs 6 pounds and 12 ounces and is a wonderful shooter and functions perfect.

It comes with a period correct Holland and Holland oak and leather case that was made for an earlier straight stock hammer gun with 30 inch barrels like the one for sale here but for gun with serial number 10501.  Top of case is marked “C. A. L. T. L.”.  Overall, the case is solid and shows mild use with some leather parts replaced.

I acquired the gun only (no oak and leather case) 10 years ago from a good friend who purchased the gun while he was in England during the summer of 2011 from Giles Marriott, a Registered Firearms Dealer in Leicestershire, England for 1600 English Pounds which would be about $2600.00 US dollars at that time.  I have the buyer’s receipt for the purchase of the gun. That buyer had the gun thoroughly gone over the following summer and I have the buyers copy of that work.  I acquired the H&H oak and leather case later.

A very fine gun indeed and is a great shooter.  Please ask if you have any questions.

Not certain if it is an antique so I would like to ship the gun to an FFL dealer who will receive the gun directly from me and I will include my driver’s license, etc. with the gun.

Reduced to $4250.  Buyer to pay actual shipping and insurance charges.
