Description:
Here is presented an original brass bareled antque trade pistol made for fur taders to trade to the indians for beaver pelts, circa 1850 to 1800;the revolutionary war period ,the brass barrel is about 9 inches and has period proof marks and some light engraving on top . the smooth bore is dark from  age, the brass barrel exterior   is clean with no corrosion and nice markings;  the brass furniture is  clean and bright with an acorn enrgaved in the triggerguard front of  of the trigger. the  the lock has some outside corosion but functions perfectly, with 2 clicks the first for safety, and second for fire position. it has 2 brass finials holding the oak ramrod. the stock sppears to be brown  Enlish walnut and is in excent condition with no cracks splits etc with one virtually unnotceable hairline crack at the front of the sideplste.
These pistolls are relatively rare because most traders prefered long guns for hunting and defense ,and pistols were secondary.
A rare piece of revolutionary war era Americana
