VERY HIGH CONDITION 1892 .38-40 OCTAGON RIFLE, #524XXX, MADE 1910. A really excellent example retaining most of the deep blue on the receiver with only the lightest of edge wear and some minor plum/brown mixing on the upper right side and tang. Even the bottom of the receiver retains fine deep blue. Exc. blue on the loading gate and minor thinning on the bolt. Exc. screw heads. Excellent blue on the magazine tube and barrel. All excellent markings, buckhorn rear sight with elevator bar intact and Winchester small blade front sight. Excellent wood shows only light handling with tight wood to metal fit. Even the forend cap shows good lightly aged blue. Tight action, strong safety half-cock and bright excellent, sharp bore. A truly excellent 115 year old 1892.
